I have a visual arts degree from AIT Arts and an Education degree from Flinders. I'm a sculptor and working on my first illustration series for a children's book. I've made things my whole life. Growing up poor I mostly cut and joined found objects into little sculptures which I would give as presents which made people happy. At art school I really struggled with the concept of artist as I never had any profound message, I just wanted to make. The process is more important to me than the product. This way of working lends itself to the ephemerality of the two main ways I make money from art, face painting and balloon twisting. The process is mediational for sitter and painter, a brief closeness with a small person.
